Harry Langdon: Lost and Found
Ben performs original soundtracks to 1920s era silent films, starring Harry Langdon. These DVD sets are out of publication, unfortunately. Sorry. I wish the publisher would re-issue these DVDs. Langdon, for my money, is the best silent film actor in US history.
Bossa Nova CD. This album is the product from Ben's doctoral studies. Ben assembled a band of the finest Washington, DC musicians to record a tribute album to the famous 1962 Jazz Samba album, featuring Stan Getz and Charlie Byrd. This album was recorded 50-years to the date after the original session, and on the same stage--Pierce Hall at the All Souls Unitarian Church in Washington, DC.
In the Domain
In the Domain, released by Vin Rouge Records in 2013, features the Redwine Jazz Band: Ben Redwine, clarinet, John Previti, bass, and Tom Mitchell, guitar. Tracks include several original compositions by Ben Redwine, and Ben scoured songs from the "Great American songbook" which were in the public domain to fill out this swinging CD! Packaging is produced on recycled paper, for an environmentally friendly jazz party!
